Our adult and community education classes are small, supportive, friendly and fun!

Are you wanting to learn new things in a welcoming, accessible and hands-on environment? We offer low-cost pre-accredited classes that can help you to:

  • Improve your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
  • Develop communication and problem-solving skills by working with others on community projects
  • Learn how to use computers more effectively
  • Learn how to get more out of your phone
  • Find employment or move into further study and more.

Our classes can help improve your confidence, communication skills and organisation. You will have the opportunity to learn with and alongside others, building skills for everyday life, to help you find work, further study, or take on volunteering roles in your community. New students can enter the class at any time (if there is a place available).

As a small, friendly and accessible neighbourhood house we are well placed to support your learning needs. Our administration and teaching staff will make every effort to provide you with relevant information about course selection and ongoing training options. Students who are experiencing difficulties in any class or program or need any referral information can speak to their teacher or to any other staff member who will make every effort to resolve this.

  • Learn English, Let’s Learn English and Better Reading and Writing: small, friendly and supportive classes to improve your everyday English language use, literacy skills, communication and understanding.
  • Project-based learning skills for work: cooperate with other learners on fun, creative and meaningful projects to support our local community, while learning everyday skills for life and work.
  • Digital Essentials: learn how to use computers more effectively, understand key terminology, know how to use your phones, and become more confident in IT throughout your life. All welcome, including complete beginners. Flexible classes to support students’ particular needs/interests.
  • Life Skills for People with a Disability: a fun and welcoming class for people with disabilities to develop communication and interpersonal skills, core literacy and numeracy skills, and confidence through performing arts activities including singing, dancing, percussion, body percussion and movement.

Important information

Pre-accredited classes are funded through the Adult Community and Further Education Board and are provided for students at minimal cost (phone 9687 9908 for details). Concession prices only apply to self-funded individuals. Organisations providing funding (even indirectly) are not eligible for concession rates.

Materials & amenities fees

Your course fees may include a small materials and/or amenities fees. You will be notified of any materials or amenities fees before you enrol in a course. Please feel free to ring and find out more about our classes for yourself, family and friends. People with a disability are encouraged to apply.
