Support & advocacy

Angliss Neighbourhood House is a welcoming and friendly place! If you need assistance with finding information or accessing a resource or service, drop in and speak to one of our team.

Free Wifi, tea and coffee: during opening hours you are welcome to come in and use our free wifi and make yourself a cup of tea or coffee.

Community Noticeboard: Our wonderful Victoria University Community Services students keep our noticeboard up to date with information about activities and events happening in Footscray and nearby suburbs. Make sure you check it regularly to see if there are opportunities to get involved or access a resource! If you are running an event or a project and you want the Angliss community to know about it – let us know and we can promote it for you.

Contact us to make an appointment for:

  • Specific help/advocacy with a task: filling out forms, understanding mail, accessing MyGov, booking medical appointments, writing an email/letter, understanding/paying a fine etc.
  • IT/Computers help: basic troubleshooting with devices, small printing needs, finding information on the web etc.

Information Sessions: we regularly invite organisations to come and share their knowledge and resources with our community. Most recently we have hosted The Heart Foundation, Metro Trains, Co-Health, Mercy Palliative Care and U3A Maribyrnong. Keep an eye out for these sessions and come along if they interest you. If there is an organisation you would like to hear more from, get in touch with us to see if we can organise a visit to ANH.

Community Library: Drop in and browse our diverse range of books and magazines in our comfy lounge area! Borrow what interests you, and make recommendations if what you are looking for is not available! We also have a mini-library book box accessible at the front of our building after-hours, for borrowing and returns. Book donations are always welcome too!

If there is something else you need, and you think we may be able to help, let us know!
